Tray Styling

Tray Styling with some simple steps

A couple of things to keep in mind when styling a tray.  The very first thing to always remember to style in odd numbers.  The next thing the items don’t have to exactly go together but choosing various heights and textures helps with the cohesiveness.  Candles, plants , flowers, books , cups, beads….the styling creativity is endless.  One design tip is to group items together to form as one item.  I will share some ideas in this post.

Tray Styling

On this serving tray I set 7 items and candles and vase are a grouping with lid part of vase and glasses and wine are the other grouping.

Styling a tray two ways using candles , plants and vases.  Working with different heights and textures makes a tray more visually pleasing.  Both are groupings of 3 and they look so different with the styles of items used.

Take caution with ottomans if you have pets .  I usually am in the room with my candles lit and my little doggie is downstairs.  The most favorite styling item is a vase then candles and you can certainly use the battery operated ones. Love this option because some have timers and the tapers usually always do.  You can have your lights start flickering all in the evening for that evening glow.

Here are a few I have used:

taper candles

votive candles

real flame-effect candles
