Garlands and Florals

Sharing my tips for Garlands and Florals

Garlands can be a mixture of faux and real flowers and greenery.  Read on…

This is a double eucalyptus garland that I have combined.   I used floral wire to attach the two together and added flower picks with the wire as well.  This wire is easy for me to handle and thick.  I used 20 Gauge but you can use what you find.  This garland has 8 antique roses and 8 thistle picks that I combined and divided them by 4 per bundle.  I secured 4 roses and put two on each end and curled the stems up and wrapped the wire around to make a bunch.  I did the same with the thistle picks.    I also used faux fig picks that looked real and I loved the patina.

Note:  Pro Tip : I try to never cut the stems so I can use them short or tall.

I use the green floral water picks to add in real within the faux…

See a photo of how I used them.  I put the eucalyptus stems in them and hid them in the garland to give it that full , real look!  I added real dried picks of St John’s wart and these were white and they start to turn pink as they start to dry.

Here is another Pro Tip for Florals:  When you first get them, trim them slightly add fresh water and flower food.  Day 3 switch water

Day 4 or 5 Take flowers out and toss the wilted ones and cut the remaining ones and put in fresh water and new containers to make a few more floral arrangements or return in original vessel.  As for the greenery it can last up to 2 weeks or longer.  These flowers/greenery are over 2 weeks and still look lovely.

This tropical stem stays alive for weeks and is a favorite for florals and garlands.  I just stick these inside the garland and then when finished at table put it back in water.
